X3 reunion where to find abandoned ships

May 13, So I know that the free ships are now randomized, and I know there are some scripts that will tell you where they are. I was okay with looking at a guide to find them in previous games but running scripts is just too much of a pain in the ass just to cheat. So what is the best way to legitimately look for them. I used to find and sell a few of them to generate early-game funds.

Is this approach now a waste of time because the odds of stumbling across them is so rare? Is it even worth looking for them? Re: [X3AP] Best method for finding free ships? May 13, I don't bother specifically seeking them out like I did with X:R or TC - if you know where there's an iguana, and you need an iguana or the money it makes sense to go ship hunting.

Just to clarify: You don't have to have SOS, you can just eject from your ship and claim the abandoned ship you found from your space suit. With regards to pirate bases, they tend to get wiped out by the various military patrols, new ones will spawn within sectors of the original.

The one in Nathan's Voyage has probably been destroyed in your game, hence you can't find it. Sha1hulud Vae Victus. The Pirate Base will keep getting destroyed where is spawns until it is in a sector that the Races really don't care about. I think it works the same in AP. So just load the SOS in an escorting ship. As long as you can load it in a ship different then your own. Salvage Insurance stays with the pilot, I don't believe SOS does--I think it stays with the ship it's loaded on to could be wrong.

It's not what someone has done.. Hi DeJuan, If you take one of these - 7,0? Just now, I dropped an Advanced Satellite 0. I did it IS. Nothing on the map. Fly a little closer to the container and it showed up of course. Dropped another 2 KM from the credits in Ore Belt.

Not on map. Had to find visually. I took screen shots of this and I can post them here for proof. Not a big deal. I've been playing X3 long enough that it doesn't bother me to have to find these things visually. But I was just wondering if I could get some definitive clarification on why some people say using Adv. Sats to find containers work and others say it doesn't. Are you saying it may depend on the ware?

CIG's and Nividium are picked up by sats, but not other wares? Edit: I have a theory. The size of the ware may play into this. Nividium is L-size, correct? But CIGs are S, aren't they? If the ware size is the issue, then this theory doesn't fly. I got it. Can't believe nobody else ever had this problem. I feel stupid for not trying that earlier. I knew I saw a Hammerhead disabled somewhere, I knew it!!! But I thought it was in a Xenon sector that I never saw again, oh well Hi to all, i've made a list of almost all the secret containers in X3, with the X-tended mod too.

Atlantia Prime?????????????????? Elena's Fortune 1MJ Shield 42 Fortune Faded??????????????? Further Wealth???????????????? Profit Centre Beta?????????????????? Xaar's Domain????????????????? Xerxes Grail??????????????? Atm - is in the planet's atmosfere, that damage the ship ErtFlt - the Earth Fleet in Heretic end, i've not found the container for that
